Language classes in times of Corona

LinguaTV supports language schools in coping with the Corona crisis

Language schools and universities worldwide are currently facing the same problem: in order to minimize the risk of infection, traditional face-to-face classes cannot be held until further notice. That is why we are offering every educational institution our experience and support. As part of the #KeepTeaching initiative, LinguaTV is providing the following components free of charge to all classroom-based teachers:

  • access for teachers to all video language courses for English, Spanish, French, Italian and German (valid for 6 months)
  • teacher's guides for the preparation and implementation of your lessons
  • special online training for teachers and administrators
  • discounts for our self-study courses on LinguaTV.com

“Covid-19 presents new challenges for education and training. Schools and educational institutions are closed or have to shut down operations for the public. In this situation, online training has a significant contribution to make, for example, because you are able to learn from home,” comments Philip Gienandt, Managing Director of LinguaTV GmbH, emphasizing the importance of digital teaching materials. “Our online language training courses are not only particularly suitable for professional training in companies (corporate learning) but also for educational institutions. Teachers can use them to conduct digital lessons themselves.” LinguaTV’s support consists of free access to the language learning platform for teachers, training in giving language classes in the virtual classroom, using the concept of Blended Learning, and other attractive advantages for educational partners.

A central component of the #keepteaching initiative is free access to all the video-based language courses for teachers of English, Spanish, French, Italian and German as a foreign language. The stand-alone language courses for CEFR levels A1 to C1 cover not only all-important language competences such as listening comprehension, reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary but also industry-specific topics such as Business English, English for Hotel and Tourism and German for Health Professionals. In addition, teachers will receive the Teacher’s Guides for the preparation and implementation of their lessons free of charge instead of having to purchase them.

The transition to digital language teaching can be difficult for many traditional providers, because, in addition to some re-thinking, it also requires a modern and scalable infrastructure, attractive teaching materials and well-trained teachers. A well-established and experienced eLearning provider like LinguaTV can provide this immediately and without significant costs. LinguaTV also offers special online training for teachers and administrators.

The webinars are held in German or English, upon request. Participants receive valuable and time-saving tips on how to prepare and conduct online language classes as well as how to avoid common mistakes.
