Digital language training - A first-hand report
Mobile learning for employees in the field of logistics
In the wake of the pandemic, many companies not only introduced home offices, but also digitized their training. How successful was this changeover? In addition to personal experiences, initial figures are now available and reveal an extremely positive interim result.
"Good morning! I have your delivery." Oleg works in logistics. He has been in Germany for about 2 years now. He likes it here, only with the language he is still struggling a bit. "We used to have classes every Thursday," but since the pandemic started, that was no longer possible. The logistics company therefore decided to try out LinguaTV's digital language training.

Together with Oleg, a total of 75 employees took part in the testing phase. Within 4 weeks, they were to improve their German language skills with the help of the LinguaTV app. In addition to the multimedia self-learning courses, the participants received personal support from a learning coach. The coach was in regular contact with his or her protégés, answering questions and helping them to achieve their learning goals. In addition to basic language skills, the program also covered job-specific logistics topics such as technical vocabulary and occupational safety. These were presented in the form of scenic videos or vocabulary trainers and could then be practiced and further deepened with the help of interactive exercises. Oleg particularly likes the conversation trainer. He can use it to reenact typical scenes from his everyday professional life and practice both his active speaking and his pronunciation. He already feels much more confident in contact with customers and colleagues as a result.
At the end of the testing phase, the evaluation of the learning data also shows an extremely positive interim result. On average, the 75 self-learners each spent more than 22 minutes a day learning with the LinguaTV app. Each of the participants thus comes to an impressive learning time of over 7 hours, spread over an average of 28 sessions of about 16 minutes each. The goal of offering the most effective microlearning possible was thus implemented to perfection: easy-to-digest learning bites that can be easily integrated into everyday working life. The target group-oriented concept of the language training can also be seen in the high motivation of the participants. Around 90% of respondents answered that they were very well motivated to learn independently with the app. Oleg's employer was impressed by these results. The company now wants to offer the digital language training to all its employees.
Oleg is himself is also very satisfied with the new solution. During the testing phase, he was already able to improve his German skills significantly. Now he wants to continue learning as soon as possible.
