Great potential for small and mediumsized companies
For a long time, digital training was the exclusive domain of large companies. But that is changing. The Corona-enhanced digitalization push is opening up exciting opportunities for language training in small and medium-sized enterprises.

"We should have done this much earlier!" - Uwe Sellmayer is enthusiastic about the new solution. His logistics company supplies customers throughout Europe. However, the 215 employees often have little knowledge of German or need English to communicate with customers and partners. The employees have now been using LinguaTV's digital language training for over a year.
Sellmayer's company is thus right on trend. As Telekom's current digitalization index revealed, numerous companies have invested in their digitalization since the start of the pandemic, especially in mobile devices and video communication. The trend toward significantly more home offices has had a positive impact on employees' willingness and digital competence. While there are still major differences between the respective industries, small and medium-sized companies have made significant progress overall. Following this digitization push, more and more SMEs are now discovering the benefits of digital training solutions. However, there are a few things to keep in mind for successful implementation.
Unlike large enterprises, SMEs often have neither their own learning management system nor their own eLearning department. The small number of learners usually makes the creation of own learning content prohibitively expensive. LinguaTV offers a flexible and cost-effective solution to this problem: using the modular principle, a customized training course is put together from various modules. The offering includes both instructor-led lessons (e.g. in a virtual classroom) and multimedia self-learning courses with video lessons and interactive learning games.

These modules can be booked either individually or in combination and are perfectly linked through a blended learning concept. In addition to the self-learning courses, personal learning support is increasingly being booked as a third module (coaching). Particularly exciting for company training is the wide range of job-specific courses, which is constantly being expanded. If required, company-specific content can also be produced, e.g. in the form of a vocabulary trainer.
Uwe Sellmayer has opted for two solutions: truck drivers and warehouse logistics staff learn German on their own smartphones using the app-based self-learning courses and receive personal support from LinguaTV coaches during the learning process. A team in sales and administration receives (business) English lessons in a virtual classroom tailored to the specific needs of the workplace. Sellmayer himself, by the way, is currently learning Spanish with the LinguaTV app. "In preparation for the summer vacation!" he reveals with a twinkle in his eye.
