LinguaTV in the Finals of the EdTech Awards 2022
LinguaTV’s language training has once again been awarded. The EdTech Awards jury was particularly impressed by the mobile language learning app with innovative, AI-supported learning functions and company-specific learning content.
For the past 12 years, the EdTech Award has recognized significant contributions that use new technologies to transform learning and teaching. The renowned committee rewards "the best and most outstanding innovators and trendsetters in the EdTech industry". In particular, this underscores the increasing importance of language learning programs that are flexible in terms of location and time against the backdrop of the drastic consequences of the pandemic on traditional education systems, which until now have often still been analog and very rigid.
LinguaTV's mobile app has already been named a 2020 Cool Tool EdTech Award winner for "best mobile training solution." The multimedia language courses rely on a combination of various video formats and interactive exercises that is very popular with learners. If required, the self-learning courses can be supplemented by individual learning support (mobile coaching), or used together with lessons in the virtual classroom as part of the successful blended learning concept.
At this year's EdTech Awards, LinguaTV was named a finalist in the "Best Language Training Solution" category. The jury thus recognized the successful further development of the app through innovative AI-supported learning functions, which can easily be used with company-specific learning content. The simplest way to do this is with the interactive vocabulary trainer, which is equipped with vocabulary, example sentences, audio recordings and images. In addition to a pronunciation trainer function, this has now been expanded to include further forms of exercise and an AI-supported repetition manager.
One particularly innovative solution is the Conversation Trainer, which is also used, for example, in language training for Deutsche Post parcel delivery staff. Company-specific videos were created for this purpose, which show typical situations and dialogs from the daily work of parcel delivery staff. In the Conversation Trainer, learners now select one of the conversation partners and act out the dialog from the video. Thanks to AI-supported speech recognition, they receive immediate feedback on their pronunciation and can thus train and improve their professional communication in a targeted manner.
These new technical improvements have been complemented by the expansion of the extensive repertoire of general and job-specific language courses, as well as the further optimization of the successful blended learning concept. All in all, this results in a digital language training solution that not only convinces learners and corporate clients, but also the jury of the EdTech Awards.
