IELA Award 2023

There was great excitement when the teams at Deutsche Post DHL and LinguaTV learned that they had won this international award!

The International E-Learning Association (IELA), based in New York, is a long-standing authority in the industry. In addition to numerous events and three scientific journals, it has presented the renowned IELA Awards once a year since 2010. In doing so, the panel of experts aims to recognize "the best use of technology to improve learning and job performance in organizations or through individual professional development."

This year, the IELA Gold Award in the category "Mobile Learning Experience" goes to Germany. The award goes to the mobile language training for Deutsche Post DHL's letter and parcel delivery staff, who use the LinguaTV app to improve their German language skills. In addition to the general German courses, new vocabulary trainers and video lessons with company-specific content were created specifically for this purpose. Thanks to the Conversation Trainer function, learners can prepare themselves specifically for typical situations in their everyday working lives and improve their active speaking skills in the process.

Many typical learning hurdles were solved very effectively in this project. For example, employees from various levels and areas were already involved in a pilot project during the development of a suitable training solution. The Germany-wide rollout was accompanied by comprehensive communication, such as animated explanatory videos, brochures, and a motivational video address by managers.

The mobile German courses in the LinguaTV language learning app also rely on microlearning - i.e., small and didactically easy-to-consume "learning bites" - so that even short windows of time in everyday working life can be used well for language training. The consistently positive feedback shows that this training concept is very well received by learners.

The jury of the International E-Learning Association is not alone in its assessment. Three other awards already underline the exceptional quality of this training project.
